The Respiratory Therapist for Northside Hospital’s Choice+ Program regularly performs respiratory care for patients in adult, neonatal care, and/or outpatient CPAP centers. Employees may perform ECG, EEG, pulmonary function testing, & bronchoscopy, and any other testing as deemed within the scope of practice by national standards.
REQUIRED 1. Graduation from an accredited respiratory care program with an Associate’s degree or equivalent and RRT credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care. 2. Must be BCLS and or NRP certified. 3. Therapist that have greater than 5 years of clinical experience and have a CRT or CRTT may be hired, will fall under the Grandfather clause not requiring them to take their registry. 4. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) by the American Heart Association. **NRP is only required when rotating to the NICU or attending deliveries. 5. Maintains proficiency in arterial blood sampling techniques as prescribed by the hospital and/or JCAHO. 6. Valid State License 7. Minimum of one-year experience with non-invasive pressure devices. (CPAP Department Only) 8. Must meet all competency level requirements for the Choice+ Program.
