Responsibilities

The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines, and in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act.

Consider the possibilities with Neurosciences. Our Neuroscience division is a 28 bed unit, with 6-9 of those beds designated to Neuro Intermediate care. Neuroscience  is credentialed as a primary certified stroke center, which utilizes advanced technology such as telestroke to better care for patients. It is known for its outstanding patient care in strokes, seizures, surgical neck and back fusions, brain tumors, brain biopsies, shunt insertions and much more. The Neuro Intermediate division offers additional career growth opportunities through our intermediate residency program. Patients admitted to the intermediate patient care level have a higher acuity diagnosis that include complex strokes, craniotomies, lumbar drains, , multi-level spine fusions, and more. Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  1. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
  2. Minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience as a RN post-orientation or post-residency training.
  3. Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
    • Other REQUIRED cardiopulmonary resuscitation certifications (ACLS, NRP, PALS, etc.) are unit specific. Please refer to the specific clinical unit.
  4. Please refer to the specific clinical unit for additional education, competencies and/or certification required as a condition of employment.
  5. Other REQUIRED RN attributes are unit specific. Please refer to the specific clinical unit.

PREFERRED:

  1. BSN degree preferred
  2. National Certification in Clinical Specialty preferred
  3. Other preferred RN attributes are unit specific. Please refer to the specific clinical unit.
