Responsibilities

The System Nurse Manager – Behavioral Health is a registered nurse who brings psychiatric nursing expertise to a general med setting. The Nurse Manager provides leadership, directs the planning, implementation and evaluation of psychiatric patient care programs, in collaboration with the associated Emergency Department, intensive care, general care units, and clinics as appropriate. Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the preferred Behavioral Health Holding Units and psychiatric nursing personnel, the nurse manager will have the opportunity to be innovative and represent the behavioral health field in the Northside system. 

 

The nurse manager will lead and develop psych nurses in a consult liaison model as well as emergency services. In addition to overseeing the Lawrenceville campus, the system manager will lead in streamlining processes across the Northside system. 

 

Other responsibilities to include - 

  • Preparation and administration of a revenue budget, operating budget, and oversight for FTEs.
  • Function as a resource within the organization and to the community in his/her area of expertise.
  • Collaborates with the System Manager of Behavioral Health and Psychiatry to accomplish departmental objectives. 
  • Works closely with Emergency Department Leadership and Inpatient Leaders to ensure psychiatric patient care is has twenty‑four (24) hour accountability for assigned area(s). Reports to System Director of Behavioral Health Services.

 

 

Qualifications

  1. BS. degree in Nursing and a minimum of five (5) years nursing experience, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or managerial capacity; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  2. Minimum of two (2) psychiatric experience or National certification as a Psychiatric Nurse
  3. Good written and oral communication skills.
