Our surgeons specialize in neuro-oncology, as well as diagnosis and treatment of benign neuro tumors, complex spine issues, robotic surgery, micro neurosurgery and Gamma Knife radiosurgery.

Responsibilities

Provides nursing assistance and patient care to provide for the comfort, safety and personal needs of patients. Assists physicians/physician assistants/nurse practitioners in medical office setting. Performs a variety of patient care duties within the construct of a multidisciplinary patient care team as delegated by physician. Specific duties and responsibilities assigned to the individual will be determined by the supervising physician(s), clinical staff and Practice Coordinator after competency is established.

  1. Interviews patient and records patient medical history and specific information related reason for visit. Prepares patient for examination by performing and recording preliminary vitals such as blood pressure, temperature, weight. 
  2. Reports abnormal symptoms, unusual conditions or adverse reactions to physician. Measures and records accurate vital signs.
  3. Prepare exam and treatment rooms. Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, sterilizing instruments as needed.
  4. Assists physicians and nurses with physical examination and treatments, and performs surgical preps and simple dressing changes.
  5. Provides procedures and treatments as delegated by physician.
  6. Maintains patient medical records; obtains information necessary to initiate routine admission procedures as required.
  7. Enters physician orders for tests, procedures, etc. into computer system. Schedule tests and treatments, as ordered by the physician.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

 

  • 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Current BLS card (CPR).
  • Color vision acuity is required to safely perform the duties of this position if such duties are related to lab duties.
  • If employed at North Georgia Diagnostic Clinic, RMA or CMA must be obtained within 90 days of employment.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED

  • Certified as Medical Assistant.
