Responsibilities

Manage and direct the activities of the Physician Support Team as well as Sr. Application Analysts on the Physician Special Projects team.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Hire, train, and support the members of physician support and special projects teams within the MIS Department.
  2. Responsible for monitoring all physician support and special project team activities.  Provide status updates to Physicians Systems Director, monitor and manage team resources appropriately, escalate and resolve issues as necessary.
  3. Develop and maintain excellent relationships with physicians utilizing technology solution(s).  Serve as primary point of escalation for physician support issues and maintain a focus on improving physician satisfaction.
  4. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all physician systems and technology. Work closely with Physician Practice Manager and Hospital Systems Manager to stay up to date on new physician technologies implemented and any challenges that may require physician support.
  5. Build and maintain 24/7 physician support infrastructure.  This includes appropriate staffing models for daytime support, an after-hours support protocol, and balancing physician support analysts’ time to achieve maximum efficiency for the support duties as well as system tasks.
  6. Monitor and manage physician support and special projects staff to ensure productivity, customer service, follow-up, accountability and responsibility. Provide senior level mentoring and professional growth development for staff members.
  7. Participate in vendor, consulting, and hospital management meetings as necessary.
  8. Participates in other projects as assigned.
  9. Attend various user group meetings representing the hospital.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

  1. B.S. Degree in Business, Information Systems or related field.
  2. Five (5) years prior healthcare experience.
  3. Three (3) years of management experience.
  4. Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  5. Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED

  1. MBA, MHA, or other Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Information Systems or related field.
  2. Eight (8) years prior healthcare experience.
  3. Five (5) years of management experience.
