Functions as a Team Member assisting Lab Supervisor in the day-to-day operations of High-Complexity Testing Laboratories and is committed to utilizing the most current technologies available. Performs a wide range of

REQUIRED:
1. Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical technology from an accredited institution

2. Must have Georgia recognized certification in Medical Technology or being eligible for such certification.

3. Minimum of 2 years of biochemistry, analytical chemistry (quantitative analysis) or molecular biology laboratory experience.

4. Basic computer skills: knowledge of MS Office (Excel, MS Word); basic statistics skills; understanding laboratory information systems.

5. Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

6. Ability to adjust to flexible schedules varied hours or work on-call.

7. Color vision acuity is required to safely perform the duties of this position: passing grade on Color-Acuity Screening Test required. 

PREFERRED:
1. Basic knowledge of assay development. 2. Experience in various methods of nucleic acids purification (DNA, RNA) 3. Knowledge of various platforms for real-time PCR (TAQMAN, FRET, etc), familiarity with molecular diagnostic software for sequence analysis and DNA-fragment analysis. 4. Ability to prioritize required duties and responsibilities. 5. Skills to define problems, to collect data, to establish facts and to draw valid conclusions.
