Responsibilities

Assists physicians during electrophysiology procedures, pacemaker/ICD insertions, radiofrequency ablation, and other miscellaneous procedures required by operating the electrophysiology recorder, hemodynamic monitoring computer and/or scrubbing for invasive cardiac and vascular procedures. Provides patient care to adult and geriatric patients.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

 

1.     Must possess one (1) of the following: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Registered Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), IBHRE, CEPS (Certified Electrophysiology Specialist) and/or prior applicable training/experience in invasive cardiology and/or electrophysiology.

2.     Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

3.     Thorough knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia interpretation.

4.     Must obtain advanced specialty certification within two years of hire date.

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED FOR PERCUTANEOUS CORONARY INTERVENTIONAL SERVICES

 

In addition to the above, the following is required:

 

1.     Minimum of two (2) years recent experience in electrophysiology lab or, two (2) years experience in an Interventional Cath Lab and successful completion of Northside Hospitals’ comprehensive orientation training program for coronary interventional cath lab under the direction of assigned preceptor
