Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the installation, testing, training and maintenance of Radiology PACS, Document Imaging Systems, and Post Processing software.  
  • Responsible for creating a filmless environment and integrating imaging equipment with PACS.
  • Provides ongoing support to users at multiple sites including NSH Atlanta, NSH Cherokee, NSH Forsyth, NSH Gwinnett, NSH Duluth and all out-patient imaging centers.
  • Additionally responsible for the installation, testing, training and maintenance of Radiology Systems including Intelerad PACS, MIM, TeraRecon, and iQ-VIEW.
  • Provides support for additional radiology systems as needed. Includes PowerScribe360,  PowerShare, and syngo.via.
  • Assists with overall systems, downtime, network, space, and integration planning for Scheduling, PACS, film library functions, and all other Radiology systems.  Supports upgrades on these systems.
  • Plans, manages, and implements projects to improve Radiology operations with the Radiology Project Manager or Radiology Systems Supervisor.
  • Works closely with the radiologists to keep them informed on system issues and status.  Provide timely response to radiologist support requests and communicates issues in a timely manner to Radiology management.
  • Provides timely support and response to Radiology staff for systems support requests.
  • Assists as a liaison to physician practices to support special projects as needed.
  • Assists, reprioritizes and makes self available to provide support during systems downtime.  Follows systems downtime and recovery policies.
  • Maintains confidentiality on all systems; completes system security updates as required and enforces HIPAA compliance.
  • Provides on-call support for radiology systems 365 days per year in rotation with other Radiology systems resources.
  • Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury-accident to supervisor.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems or other related field and two (2) years Information Systems experience in Healthcare or Radiology office environment; OR an Associate’s degree and four (4) years experience in Healthcare or Radiology office environment.

2. Must possess excellent analytical skills.

3. Demonstrated knowledge of network procedures and applications.

4. Ability to communicate effectively.
