Responsibilities

Leads the daily activities of assigned specialty area. Acts as liaison between assigned  departments, patient care units, and other medical personnel.  Assists leadership with performance improvement activities. Works with age groups defined by clinical competency which may include neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations.  The duties of this position require patient and family education and the exercise of courtesy and patience in speaking with and assisting patients, families, medical personnel and others in order to provide quality customer service.

 

The Audiology Lead provides direct patient care and supports the Clinical Coordinator in leading several daily activities of operations for the Atlanta (Women’s Center, Acute Care and 993D) and Alpharetta locations. Assistance with clinical oversight, competency checks and equipment maintenance at the Forsyth and Cherokee locations will be required

 

This is a 40-hour a week position, typical hours are 8:00a.m.–4:30p.m., but hours may vary based on departmental needs. Weekend and holiday rotation is required.

Qualifications

  1. Master’s degree or higher in Audiology.
  2. Licensed by the appropriate Georgia State Board.
  3. Three years’ experience in licensed discipline, with at least one year experience in a hospital environment.
  4.  Audiologist must meet the education and experience requirements for a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology granted by the ASHA by either currently holding or previously holding certification.
  5. Ability to work independently and communicate tactfully.
  6. Must demonstrate ability to effectively coordinate and direct activities, procedures, and personnel.
  7. Must be certified in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation for all age groups.

PREFERRED:

  1. Previous leadership and/or project management experience.
  2. Program development with outpatient practices.

  3. Experience in Oncology Hearing and Balance management.

  4. Experience with Adult Inpatient management.

  5. Active Certificate of Clinical Competency. (required)

  6. Three years’ experience in discipline including pediatrics and adults. (required)

  7. Knowledgeable in Audiology regulations, billing, reimbursement, and CMS guidelines.
