Responsibilities

  1. Coordinates departmental workflows and investigates identified issues.
  2. Ensures release of information complies with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
  3. Ensures a high level of customer service is provided to patients and requestors.
  4. Generates departmental reports. Prior to running reports performs monthly data validation to ensure accuracy of report information.
  5. Performs annual reviews of staff.
  6. Develops, in conjunction with the Director, educational programs, job aids, and training sessions for practice staff relating to customer service and patient satisfaction.
  7. Provides training and acts as a subject matter expert resource to NHDC staff regarding these systems and concepts.
  8. Responsible for coordinating department meetings and monitoring attendance.
  9. Coordinates improvement activities and case/chart reviews in compliance with departmental guidelines.
  10. Maintains staffing schedules.
  11. Develops communication tools (newsletters, articles, visual aids, etc.) for communicating with providers to enhance compliance with varying initiatives.
  12. Ability to work overtime on an occasional or as-needed basis.
  13. Manages patient services program and staff.
  14. Manages switchboard program and staff.
  15. Manages front office program and staff.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business, Healthcare, or other related fields
  2. Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in patient services or patient access.
  3. Knowledge of HIPAA and government regulations regarding confidentiality

  1. College degree
