Overview

Northside Hospital Cancer Institute is searching for a Medical Physicist to join the radiation oncology team at our Philip Boulevard location. The successful candidate would be one of a team of 15 clinical physicists within an ACR-accredited, vibrant and growing program spanning 12 integrated clinics across metro Atlanta and the surrounding area.

 

Responsibilities

The Northside Hospital Cancer Institute Radiation Oncology at Philip Blvd is located in Lawrenceville, GA which is 30 minutes north-east of the city limits of Atlanta. The clinic is equipped with a new GE 4DCT scanner and two Varian linear accelerators (EX) with plans underway to replace treatment machines. Some of the tools utilized at this location include Varian ARIA, Eclipse, Variseed, Velocity, Radformation’s suite of products, and Sun Nuclear’s SunCheck and QA devices. An AlignRT SGRT system by VisionRT will also be installed with the new treatment machine. The radiation oncology team at Philip Blvd includes two full-time physicists, two radiation oncologists, two medical dosimetrists, and several therapists and nurses.

 

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

- MS or PhD degree in medical physics.

- Board certification or eligibility in therapeutic medical physics from the American Board of Radiology (or equivalent).

- Three years clinical experience in medical physics, including HDR and LDR prostate planning treatment delivery.

- Eligible for addition to the radioactive materials license to handle radioisotopes as a Qualified Medical Physicist.

Qualifications

Required:

  1. Masters Degree in Medical Physics or related field.
  2. Certified in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  3. Must be ABR certified or eligible

Preferred:

  1. Experience: 3 years in Radiation Oncology (clinical application of medical physics, High Dose Rate Brachytherapy and Prostate Seed Implants)
