Pharmacy Supervisor - Surgery

As part of the health care team provides pharmaceutical care with an emphasis in the designated specialty care area. Assumes administrative role and responsibility for all systems and procedures in designated practice area. Supervises workflow and personnel. Serves all patients including, but not limited to, neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Oversight of day to day OR pharmacy operations for Gwinnett ORs (Main OR, Outpatient Surgery Center, GWP OR, CVOR) and Duluth OR
• USP 795,797 and 800 compliance, documentation and training
• Staff Education regarding medication safety, policies and procedures
• Clinical and Operational staffing whenever required
• Prepares or approves schedules and assures appropriate staffing coverage
• Direct supervisor for OR pharmacy staff
• Coordinates activities and develops systems for designated programs / services
• Hires, trains, orients, counsels, evaluates and administers disciplinary action
• Develops policies and procedures and administers QI programs

REQUIRED:
1. Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.

2. Three (3) years hospital Pharmacy experience.

PREFERRED:
1. One (1) year lead or supervisory experience.

2. Pharm.D. or Masters level degree.

3. Previous experience in the speciality care area.
