Responsibilities

Performs the duties and responsibilities of a security officer 1 position which includes providing a safe and secure environment for Hospital patients, visitors, and employees. Required to interface with visitors, staff, physicians, patients and family members. Additionally this position fills the supervisor responsibilities when that position is off.

Qualifications

Required:

  • One (1) year experience with Hospital Security/Safety, Fire, Police, Military Police, Ambulance/EMT, or similar occupation. One (1) year of college may be substituted for experience.
  • Must demonstrate complete knowledge and application of Security, Safety, or Law Enforcement techniques and procedures.
  • Must possess excellent public relation/customer service skills, and good written and oral communication skills.
  • Must either possess International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Certification or successfully complete the IAHSS Basic Certification course within three months of employment.
  • Must successfully complete BLS-Healthcare Provider Certification course, offered by the organization, upon hire.
  • Must have valid Georgia Driver's License

Preferred: 

  • Two (2) years experience with Hospital Security/Safety, Fire, Police, Military Police, Ambulance/EMT, or similar occupation.

Work Hours:

2:00pm-10:30pm
