Responsibilities

The Cardiovascular Nurse specializes in the care and management of pre- and post cardiac care of adult and geriatric patients; provides rehabilitative care, education, and psychosocial support to patients; and acts as a resource for nursing personnel.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

1. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.

2. Minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience as a RN post- orientation or post-residency training.

3. Certified in American Heart Association's Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).

4. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification must be obtained within twelve (12) months of hire date into position.

5. Minimum of one (1) year experience in medical-surgical nursing or related area and one (1) year experience involving the treatment of cardiac or critical care patients.

6. Thorough knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia interpretation.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED:

1. Strong background in pacemaker interpretation and functioning

2. National Certification in Clinical Specialty preferred

3. Other preferred RN attributes are unit specific. Please refer to the specific clinical unit.

 

*Shift: 4x10 hrs, M-F*
