Responsibilities

The Manager of Business Intelligence/Data Strategy is a leadership role responsible for management of people, data, process and applications with regard to business intelligence, data warehousing and data strategy to ensure alignment of business expectations, technical capabilities and end-product delivery.  This includes strategic development of people, process and infrastructure to lead and keep Northside Hospital as a best in class data interpretation and usage institution.  

 

While this sites within the Business Intelligence department, it is geared towards developing solutions dealing with complex script automations, web applications (.ne) and cross-tool integrations 9ex: PowerBI x .net x Python). 

 

Applicants should have a background and ability in both software engineering and data engineering while also being an excellent people and process manager.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Work closely with Northside Leadership and BIDS leadership to conceptualize and document business data models, data driven solutions, and analytic needs.
  2. Work closely with external end-users and internal resources on expectations, scope and delivery of analytic solutions to include education on data assets and capabilities.
  3. Develop data and process flow diagrams to support these analytics or process improvement solutions.
  4. Creatively utilize BIDS technical and analytical BI stack to build sustainable and supportable solutions with a strong focus on end-user usability and information effectiveness.  This may also include end-user documentation and training.
  5. Manage and drive strategic and operational data projects to completion from inception/ requirements and through execution and support by building requirements documents, estimating delivery timeframes and building project plans to complete projects within scope and time/dollar budgets.
  6. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all BIDS data assets and capabilities.
  7. Hire, manage, mentor and motivate resources to the collective BIDS vision.
  8. Identify opportunities and recommendations for data driven process improvement and decision making for Northside Hospital.
  9. Assist in development of, execution of and adherence to strategies for data usage, quality, access, security and governance by helping create short and long range strategic plans.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

 

BS in Health Systems, Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or related.  May be replaced with significant years of proven experience in a leadership role.

 

5+ years proven leadership abilities motivating and engaging staff towards a shared strategic vision.

 

Proven experience affecting positive organizational change.

 

Strong ability to understand the development lifecycle (including support protocols), produce and execute project plans, and build positive end-user experiences.

 

PREFERRED

 

Master Degree in associated discipline.

Strong healthcare background.

10+ years of experience in a technical data environment to include data collection/warehousing, data analytics/business intelligence delivery and solution architecting.

Proven experience building a data strategy
