RN

The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines, and in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act.

 

Clinical Supervisor

The Clinical Supervisor provides direct patient care and supervises the nursing operations of a unit. In the absence of the Manager or Director may assume 24-hour nursing responsibility.  Works with a unit specific patient population.

 

Nurse Clinician

Functions in a leadership role, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team as a direct care provider and clinical expert.  Develops and implements practice guidelines, participates as active and integral member of clinical pathway team, and maintains the established standards of care and practice through staff development, clinical improvement activities, and patient/staff education.

 

Cardiac Sonographer

Performs 2-D, M-mode, color flow mapping and cardiac Doppler echocardiography in the adult and geriatric patient population. Must be able to assist the cardiologist in transesophageal echo and perform stress echo procedures. Will be responsible for maintaining performance improvement documentation in cardiac ultrasound in accordance with IAC (Intersocietal Accreditation Commission).

 

Medical Assistant

Provides nursing assistance and patient care to provide for the comfort, safety and personal needs of patients.  Assists physicians /physician assistants /nurse practitioners in clinic settings.  Performs duties within the construct of a multidisciplinary patient care team while sharing various tasks with other licensed and non‑licensed members.

 

Paramedic

Assists medical, nursing and respiratory staff with the care and treatment of Medical Surgical, Intermediate Care and Emergency Department pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

 

 

Qualifications

 

RN Requirements:

 

1. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.

2.Minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience as a RN post-orientation or post-residency training.

3. Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS). 

4. Other requirements such as RN attributes & certifications (ACLS, NRP, PALS, etc.) are unit specific. Please refer to the specific clinical unit.

 

Clinical Supervisor Requirements:

 

1. Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with one (1) year of nursing experience in area of specialty.

2. Associates Degree with three (3) years' clinical experience OR Bachelor's in Nursing with Two (2) years' clinical experience.

3. Demonstrated ability to set priorities and make appropriate clinical and supervisory decisions. Must possess good problem solving skills.

4. Demonstrated leadership capabilities.

5. Certified in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

6. Other certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP may be required based on department needs.

 

Nurse Clinician Requirements:

 

1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

2. Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing,

3. Two (2) years of recent clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in the area of nursing assigned.

4. Current, unrestricted license as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state of Georgia

5. Must hold American Heart Association BLS Certification.

 

 

Paramedic Requirements:

 

1. Graduate of an accredited Paramedic Program

2. Current Paramedic License in the state of Georgia

3. Basic Life Support Required

4. ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life support) Required

5. PALS Required

 

 

Cardiac Sonographer Requirements:

 

1. An appropriate credential in echocardiography:

  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • Canadian Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CRCS), Sonography Canada
  • Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)

 

2. Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support

 

Medical Assistant Requirements:

 

1. Graduate of Medical Assistant program or Graduate of a U.S. Military Medic course AND one or more year of MA experience.

2. Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support.

3. Must submit to and pass a Color-Acuity screening test.
