About Northside Hospital Cherokee (Main OR):
Northside Hospital Cherokee (Main OR) is located at 450 Northside Cherokee Blvd. in Canton, Georgia on the second floor of the main hospital.
Scope of practice for surgical services care includes different specialties ranging from general, GYN, Ortho, podiatry, neuro, plastics, ENT, urology and robotics surgical procedures. Populations include ASA Class I through IV, adults, adolescents and pediatrics (ENT). Adult and adolescent surgery patients undergoing anesthesia receives general, MAC, regional or local anesthesia.
The Main Operating Room consist of 17 operating rooms including a cysto room and an Endo Vascular Hybrid suite. Staffing includes Registered Nurses, Surgical Technologists, Charge preceptors, Core Techs and Support Techs to cover the operating rooms Monday through Friday, 24 hours a day, Saturday, and Sunday 7AM to 7PM. We follow AORN standards and guidelines.
Orientation and Training
We provide all staff with a robust onboarding process. Orientation includes computer- based learning, one-on-one time with the unit Clinician and our Surgical Tech educator and hands-on orientation with a skilled preceptor. Our orientees are followed closely during orientation and will tailor your orientation based on previous experience and the current needs of the orientee.

The Clinical Supervisor provides direct patient care and supervises the nursing operations of a unit. In the absence of the Manager or Director may assume 24 hour nursing responsibility. Works with a unit specific patient population.
REQUIRED:
1. Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with one (1) year of nursing experience in area of specialty.
2. Associates Degree with three (3) years' clinical experience OR Bachelor's in Nursing with Two (2) years' clinical experience.
3. Demonstrated ability to set priorities and make appropriate clinical and supervisory decisions. Must possess good problem solving skills.
4. Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
5. Certified in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). 6. Other certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP may be required based on department needs.
PREFERRED:
Successful completion of a management course prior to appointment, or within six (6) months of employment.
