Provides support services to severely emotionally disturbed or disabled adult behavioral health clients in order to meet the individual needs of the clients, to coordinate treatment, to assist the client with achieving the best possible functional level, to maximize symptom self-management and to enhancing quality of life and recovery. Provides leadership in the recovery model for staff at all levels.
The BH Clinician will be working every Saturday & Sunday, 8a-8p.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides consultation, guidance and leadership to patients and staff in the emergency departments.
- Provides consultation to inpatient patients as referred for evaluation and placement of care recommendations.
- Assist in the diagnosis, 1013/2013 assessment and ongoing management, risk assessments and placement of patients in the emergency department and inpatient floors.
- Ensures assigned behavioral health patients have adequate discharge plans for care.
- Support psychiatrists and advanced practice nurses in their role within the medical model.
- Participates in the quality improvement process by identifying programmatic issues, collecting data used to monitor quality and analyzing information.
- Provides in-services, workshops and educational services to non-BH staff to assist with behavioral health care within the hospital system.
- Maintains working knowledge of regulatory requirements, including TJC, Medicare, Medicaid, State of Georgia, and other payers. Is a knowledgeable leader of programmatic changes in State of Georgia expectations.
- Assumes leadership role in a crisis.
- Regularly performs the duties and responsibilities of the BHS Clinician III
- Completes clinical documentation to meet standards of care and documentation requirements.
