OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY
Preps all records in the manner and order required, and scans all records into the optical Imaging System. Forwards all scanned documents to the QC/Indexing area.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Health Information Services (H.I.S)
- Prepares all documents by removing staples, clips and sticky notes, perforating, copying, etc.
- Removes all cold documents from the paper record.
- Prepares all documents in reverse chronological order.
- Photocopies all damaged documents.
- Removes photographs and inserts appropriate form in record to be scanned. Files photograph according to department procedure.
- Identifies correct patient encounter information from MPI and applies to documents scanned.
- Scans all documents into the Optical Imaging System via the Kodak scanner.
- Assigns appropriate batch names in DCS to ensure proper identification of documents for review by QCI Technicians.
- Distributes finished documents to QCI area.
- Cleans scanner on a biweekly basis.
Customer Service
- Prepares all documents by removing staples, clips and sticky notes, perforating, copying, etc.
- Photocopies all damaged documents.
- Identifies correct patient encounter information from MPI and applies to documents scanned.
- Enters standard note codes in STAR Financials to identify the type of correspondence received.
- Scans all documents into the Optical Imaging System via the Bell & Howell scanner.
- Assigns appropriate batch names in DCS to ensure proper identification of documents for review by QCI Technicians.
- Distributes finished documents to QCI area.
- Cleans scanner on a daily basis.
