Responsibilities

Northside Hospital is seeking a patient-centric Ophthalmologist specializing in Glaucoma management and surgery to join our dynamic and expanding ophthalmology team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care for patients with glaucoma and other ophthalmic conditions, including diagnosis, medical treatment, and surgical intervention. This role will collaborate with a team of multidisciplinary physicians, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Patient Care: Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with glaucoma, both medically and surgically. Monitor disease progression and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Surgical Expertise: Perform advanced glaucoma surgeries, including trabeculectomy, tube shunt procedures, MIGS (Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery), and other related surgeries.
  • Collaborative Care: Work closely with the ophthalmology team, primary care physicians, and optometrists for coordinated patient management.
  • Patient Education: Provide education and counseling to patients regarding glaucoma management, treatment options, and preventative measures.
  • Clinical Leadership: Participate in the development and execution of glaucoma care protocols and clinical guidelines at Northside Hospital.
  • Outreach: Engage in community outreach programs to raise awareness of glaucoma and other ophthalmic diseases.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Graduate from Accredited Glaucoma Fellowship
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible
  • Georgia License or the ability to obtain one
