Responsibilities

The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for performing history and physical examinations and carrying out appropriate intervention/procedures as determined by the plan of care. Coordinates care of assigned patients according to Northside Hospital established Standards of Care in order to provide and promote the best interests of the health and well being of patients.

 

This position is a consultation/liaison psychiatry role, covering the floors and the emergency department.  This requires a fundamental knowledge of the interface between medical issues and psychiatric symptoms, an ability to perform a psychiatric evaluation, formulate a comprehensive treatment plan, order appropriate psychotropic medications, and communicate findings/recommendations with other medical teams.  

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Georgia.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Advanced Practice in the State of Georgia.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience performing consultation/liaison psychiatry
  • 1 year post-Masters experience working as a nurse practitioner (would be ideal to have 2 years post)

8a-4:30p
