Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all hospital financial applications including Scheduling, Registration, Pre-Registration
  2. Assists in the coordination of design, development, build, testing, implementation, training, upgrades, support, and overall system management of all hospital financial applications.
  3. Acts as a Project Manager for the implementation of new Systems or upgrades of existing systems
  4. Maintain an issues work list and conduct regular and thorough follow-up with interested parties.
  5. Provide primary support and maintenance for core financial systems as determined by the Applications Coordinator or Manager.
  6. Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury-accident to the Director.

 

  1. Possess advanced knowledge of Cerner Registration and Scheduling applications and EMR concepts.
  2. Working as the IT departmental liaison responsible for collaboration with applicable departments for designing, building, implementing, upgrading and supporting overall system management of all Scheduling systems.
  3. Troubleshooting and resolution of issues relating to solutions supported by the Revenue Cycle Applications Team
  4. Designs and rebuilds new application solutions (e.g., forms, reports, conversations, rules) to address customer requirements
  5. Enhances existing applications (e.g., building code sets, modifying application settings, conversations, charts, rules/alerts, database scripts, reports) to address customer requirements
  6. With minimal supervision, performs best practice Cerner design, workflows, and programming to support comprehensive Revenue Cycle requirements.
  7. Conduct gap analysis between application and stated customer requirements and collaborate with Architects and other applications staff to estimate project impact.
  8. Partner effectively with all levels of the organization, lead others, drive results, proactively identify and resolve problems, and make challenging decisions within the designated specialty.
  9. Experience with custom rules in Cerner PM for hospital registration conversations is preferred.
  10. Seek ways to improve quality, standardization, efficiency, effectiveness of various clinical and business processes.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

  1. S. Degree in Nursing, Business, Systems, or related field or Five (5) years healthcare financial or clinical experience
  1. Two (2) years healthcare financial, clinical systems, or training experience (with B.S. Degree)
  1. Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED

 

  1. Five (5) plus years healthcare financial or clinical systems experience (with B.S. Degree)
  2. Experience in Project Management
  3. Knowledge of Cerner Scheduling applications including Schapptbook and Cerner RevCycle/CPM
