Responsibilities

Performs various tasks and duties to provide technical assistance and support to medical/surgical staff and personnel during and in the turnover of surgical procedures. Specializes in multiple surgical services and potentially works with neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Is responsible for coordinating supplies and equipment for service and physician needs as directed by supervisor.

Qualifications

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must hold American Heart Association BLS credential

PREFERRED

  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program
  • Three years of experience as a Surgical Technologist, including at least six months experience as a Surg Tech III at Northside.
  • Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Technologist in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
  • Femtosecond Laser Certification preferred, if applicable.
  • Associate’s Degree or Higher OR Enrolled in an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree Program in a Healthcare Related Field.
  • Visual color acuity screening depending on the role in specific units.
