Responsibilities

The Scheduler/Secretary will be responsible for performing scheduling function in a streamlined environment, which is fully computerized. Position requires application of special instructions and procedural information to identify type of procedure requested and correctly schedule rooms and equipment. Enter various data into computer system, verifies the accuracy of data input, and corrects errors and prints reports as necessary.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

1. Medical terminology
2. One (1) year previous medical related clerical or related experience or an associate’s degree.
3. Good communication skills
4. Typing requirements vary by department; see requisition for requirements.
5. Fundamental knowledge and skill in utilization of computer application.
6. Level of proficiency in the use and application of MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) varies by department, see requisition for requirements.
7. CPR certification may be required by department; see requisition for requirement.

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED:

1. Three (3) years previous experience in admissions or a scheduling environment.
2. Demonstrated problem-solving skills
3. Proficient in computerized input of data
