Responsibilities

Develops and administers speech therapy programs and treatments for inpatients and outpatients of age groups defined by clinical competency and/or assigned clinical fellowship location, which may include neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. The Clinical Fellow will work closely with their assigned mentor and is responsible for following all American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) guidelines https://www.asha.org/certification/completing-the-clinical-fellowship-experience/ as well as GA State guidelines https://www.sos.ga.gov/board-speech-pathology-and-audiology.  

The duties of this position require patient and family education and the exercise of courtesy and patience in speaking with, and assisting patients, families, medical personnel and others in order to provide quality customer service. 

Qualifications

  1. Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology.
  2. Must be certified in cardio‑pulmonary resuscitation CPR for all age groups.
  3. Must meet GA state’s licensure requirements for CFY, hold a PCE temporary license.  
  4. Must have applied to obtained CCC SLP and full Georgia licensure to continue employment at Northside Hospital post 12 months of the CFY.

PREFERRED: 

  1. Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and other government regulations with specific focus on regulations pertaining to a clinical fellow.
