Responsibilities

  • Performs physical, psycho-social assessment; establishes medical diagnosis; orders and evaluates diagnostic tests; manages follow up care; supports the neonatal operating room during surgical intervention; and does other related work as required.
  • Responsibilities include performing physical examinations, developing treatment plans, ordering and interpreting lab tests and results, along with providing preventative healthcare and counseling.
  • Acts as the neonatal surgeon’s assistant during surgery by applying traction or counter-traction as needed, helping to maintain hemostasis during surgery and assisting with wound closure at completion of surgical procedure.
  • Demonstrates competencies for neonatal surgical procedures, techniques, and equipment and functions interdependently with the neonatal surgeon and applies knowledge, skill, and judgment necessary to assist the neonatal surgeon in performing a safe operation that yields optimal results for the patient.
  • Performs various tasks and duties to provide technical assistance and support to neonatal intensive care unit and surgical staff and personnel during surgical procedures.

Qualifications

1. Master’s Degree in Nursing
