PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides mammography services according to ACR, FDA and MSQA guidelines.
2. Coordinates with vendors to determine PM services at all locations, and communicates changes on updates as necessary. Also coordinates downtimes with scheduling once approved by management.
3. Responsible for mammography QC at all facilities.
4. Communicates with management regarding issues/concerns and opportunities with respect to mammography operations and services.
5. Serves as a role model for staff and communicates current policy and procedure and/or accreditation issues as related to Performance Improvement.
6. Develops PI plan and in tandem with mammographers, ensures timely data collection and interpretation for identification of opportunities for improvement. Will implement follow-up plan as necessary communicating findings with management and/or PI Coordinator.
7. Provides support of QC testing as needed and ensures accuracy through ongoing audits and site visits.
8. Proactively maintains data management sign-on, archival systems and protocol workflows for new and existing radiologists. Maintains the radiologist’s workstation work lists updated to ensure studies maintain their annotations.
9. Assists in orienting, training and acclimating new mammography staff as needed and provides support for new facilities to ensure compliance.
10. Ensure pending work report is reviewed daily and all outstanding exams are read at all facilities.
11. Responsible for attending Breast Section meetings and relaying all appropriate information to mammography techs at all facilities.
12. Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury-accident to Manager.
13. Ensure that all assigned mammography facilities operate consistently across the organization.
14. Prepare sites for FDA inspection; Provides feedback through ongoing reviews and supports sites as needed.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
1. Current ARRT registration.
2. Current CPR Certification
3. Two years mammography experience
1. Certificate in mammography as defined by the ACR/FDA/MQSA standards
2. Five (5) years mammography experience.
3. Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related
